A theater company I frequently work with had a need on short notice for an Oompa Loompa costume, a recreation of those seen in the original Gene Wilder movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Though not the sort of period thing I normally do, I found it a fun challenge to recreate this costume from white denim. A store-bought turtle neck with a bit of fabric paint completes the ensemble. |
